Unlock Apple iPhone

This step by step jailbreak guide will help you jailbreak your Iphone 3GS with OS 3.0 installed on it. We use Redsn0w 0.8, with this tool you are also able jailbreak other Apple devices. We preformed this jailbreak with the “help” of a Windows computer but of course you can also work with the Mac!

Warning: The jailbreaken your phone is at your own risk. We are not responsible if something goes wrong, or your phone gets irreparably damaged!

Requirements:
* A computer with Windows
* An iPhone 3GS
* 3GS iPhone firmware (download)
* Redsn0w (download)

1. Create a folder on your desktop with Pwnage. Download the firmware, but keep it in the format *. ipsw. So not unpack the firmware yet! Get redsn0w from the Pwnage folder.

2. Open iTunes and make sure you have iTunes 8.2. Go to the top, Help, About. Do you not have iTunes 8.2 then Search Update and  iTunes will update it. If you do have iTunes 8.2, you can connect your iPhone 3GS and restore. Hold Shift key and press “Restore”. It opens a window where you must choose the firmware 3.0. Go to the Pwnage folder on your desktop and click on the firmware. iTunes will now restore your iPhone.

3. When ready open redsn0w 0.8. Click “Browse” and click once on the firmware 3.0 in the Pwnage folder. Then click Next and as “Install Cydia” is checked, you can again click on Next.

4. Now we have the iPhone 3GS  in DFU mode. The program has a little help function but we put here the exact steps.
- Turn your iPhone off (hold the Sleep / Wake button and turn it off)
- Redsn0w will notify to go the Sleep / Wake button for 2 seconds, press and hold, this is not important and this step allows you to save.
- Hold for exactly 10 seconds  the Sleep / Wake button and Home button together. There is a counter image that says how long they should be pressed.
- Immediately after that 10 seconds release the Sleep / Wake button and hold down the Home button until redsn0w continues (approximately 10-15 seconds).

If you’ve done well you can go on, if not, check out the guide that “puts the iPhone or iPod touch in DFU mode”. NOTE: You can set your iPhone in DFU mode in advance. Redsn0w will recognize the iPhone as an iPhone in DFU mode and automatically go on.

5. Redsn0w will jailbreak the iPhone automaticly from there. If your iPhone will reboot and is jailbreaked succesfully it will have Cydia or Icy installed on it.
